About the Artist

Micah Golmant was born in Virginia, USA, in 1994. Raised in a Jewish household by parents who encouraged artistic expression through story-telling and community engagement, he found an immediate joy and fascination with the culinary arts and with creative writing. Openly queer since childhood, Golmant’s gender and sexual identities have shifted many times over his lifetime; this fact is reflected in his rotating choice of mediums and tendency to remix pieces of previous creations in new ways, even pulling from childhood sketchbooks for inspiration and physical materials.

Achieving his AS in Culinary Arts in 2014 and BA in Anthropology in 2024, Golmant now enjoys his time serving his community through his job at the award-winning Central Rappahannock Regional Library System in his hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA. He happily dotes on his small but extremely fluffy cat, Maisie, who often serves as his model while testing new artistic styles and materials. He can regularly be found in his garden, enjoying a horror novel and a strong cup of coffee.
